Sapphire Conference

I walked back from Sapphire with lots of stories to share and with a great new view of the world. SAP has become very powerful. Sapphire was a power show. Very systematic and absolute seamless arrangment - over 800 seminars in two and half days!!!!
There was information flow everywhere. I tried to keep my eyes and ears open and tried to absorb as much as possible in these Sapphire days. SAP mainly was focussing on MDM, eSOA and Business Objects. There were lots of small companies who did some presentation and were impressive at their booths. Capgemini presence was Huge!!! We had biggest booth and also right place for logo on participants kit. There were almost all big players in Sapphire and came very well prepared. It was very serious participation from everyone - Customers, Consulting partners, SAP, cooks, waiters, bartenders, everyone meaning literally everyone. On Sunday we had internal Capgemini meeting to chalk out the strategy and assigning the responsibility. I was placed under Auto and OS category. Sunday evening was networking meeting and was sponsered by HCL. I thought that it was waste of marketing money from HCL as most of the people who came there for networking meeting never attempted to walk into HCL Booth at all and was busy drinking, eating and enjoying their Sunday evening. Only HCL was allowed to keep the booth open making all their resources to stand in booth loosing the opportunity to meet other customers. I was also surprised that they came up with idea of "Free SAP Upgrade" scheme. Overall, I was skeptical about their approach. Deloitte/Accenture were good. Yash was making good presence in the SAP Market these days and it was evident from their presence in the Sapphire. Though I was expecting some speaker sessions from them.
Personally and professionaly, I think it was great experience. I met Capgemini CTO Andy Mulholland and he was very very impressive. Every minute he talked, I could see the spark and sharpness. He is very knowledgable and it was apparent in every word he was speaking.
One thing was clear that there is lot to catch up. SAP is changing the world in a big way. Earlier IT was used to run and support businesses but the way SAP is positioning themselves is to create new business opportunities using technology. This is giving most of the customers edge over their competitors to get into new product lines, introducing flexible options to their customers and obviously with reduced response time with accurate information.
No one talked about R/3. It was all about new dimension products. Somehow I felt there was NO focus on products like APO. There was lot of coverage for HCM, PLM, CRM, somewhat on SRM but nothing much to cover manufacturing alone.
Monday was very busy and evenings were allowed for all the cosulting companies to offer free cocktails to their customers (current and potential). Me and Vishal went to other place instead of hanging with team. Tuesday evening was Eric Clipton Live and Wednesday evening I flew back to detroit....It was awesome, eye opening experience which I will treasure it for sometime now....as it also gave me opportunity to meet old faces in SAP...I met lot of my friends. And theres always lot to talk when you meet friends after 7-8 yrs!!!!

There are cold calls
there are faceless emails
there are inquisitors and shapeless ideas
Big heart and empty pocket

There are no moves
There are no return calls
there are no replies to emails
there is deathless silence, eagerness and wait
A new entrepreneur with restless soul

There is this new morning of hope
cool breeze with fresh smell
contracts ,deals and people to believe
its a new entrepreneur with dream
A dream to move the world and dent the universe
Its me speaking!

Years passed
The world has not changed
Its just one more company
All cheat, lie and money
Its business after all - ones loss is others profit
Its not me anymore, others are speaking!!!!

Allergies

Never been victim of allergies but after my smokey mountain visit, its everyday. Dealing with allergies takes a hell lot than one can imagine. Their presence is everywhere - on skin and in your mind. And then medication makes it worst. Drowsy and conscious are the constant feelings you will carry throughout days, throughout weeks and months. Funny topic to talk about or write about on blog but its just not possible to go through it for last 6 weeks - still going through and not worth mentioning!!!!
After repeated doctor's visits and specialists (impossible to get appointments for almost 3-4 months!!!), the result is a common conclusion - HIVES!!! And That's where I understood the limitation of medical science.
It seems HIVES if stayed beyond 6 weeks, they are called Chronic Hives and its difficult to know the agent or exact reason for Chronic Hives. It is also impossible to know how to get rid of, what exact medication will work for it and how much time it will take to recover. We are thinking that we are staying in most advanced world and have all the answers - atleast as little as Allergies or atelast thats how I used to think about allergies before, but I now realized how limited understanding medical science still has regarding their own product - Human Body.
Over decades, there was struggle and fights between spiritual world and Medical science. Doctors believed in what they could establish as facts through the science or results through mathematical calculations, while Spiritual leaders always believed that there are "Miracles". There are things beyond and over human understanding. Scientists proved that they could make human fly, travel through universe, artificial reproduction, cloning, early warning systems and many more. And Spiritual leaders established that there is still lot which is unanswered, unknown and unimaginable - life after death, world beyond universe and much more, they explain these miracles in umpteen details.
I don't know the answer and I don't know which way to go. But I think both are believes. Scientists believes that there are no miracles and Spiritual leaders believes that there is world that goes way beyond science. There is huge difference in belief and knowledge. Scientists and Spiritual leaders are struggling to get to the answer and failed to share the knowledge to prove the theory one way or other so far. There is still long way to go but everyday, there are discoveries, there are Samadhis. There is progress and step forward in both direction. I think this is what God has designed...THE DISCOVERY of God - through science and through internal journey...both world will progress and meet where it all began. We all will witness and then there will be end of struggle...a beginning of silent endless NIRVANA...
The real question is - Are YOU ready to explore?
